Fetty Wap has been gearing up for something special in 2019 after dropping “Zoo” featuring Tee Grizzley, “Birthday” featuring Monty & his single “Brand New” Fetty has consistently been releasing very potent tracks. He also performed at the VMA’s for a legendary Jersey Tribute performance alongside Queen Latifah, Redman, Naughty By Nature and Wyclef Jean. Outside of music Fetty has also given back to his community with a Backpack Give Away in the Township of Paterson where he grew up.
Continuing his run in 2019, Fetty delivers the latest project for his “For My Fans” Mixtape series. Back in December 2015, Fetty started the series and every year since he has given fans a new project. Rumors were indicating a follow up to his multi-platinum self-titled debut album. Although he didn’t drop the follow up, For My Fans 4 is the 9 track hit filled project fans need to hold them down until “King Zoo” drops.
Releasing a video for the lead track “Cologne” and also dropping a remix to “Ransom” Fetty displays a work ethic that is unmatched. His ability to drop full length mixtapes with multiple hits indicates that his forthcoming album is being planned with great detail. You can picture any of the tracks from this project being on an album.
One stand out track is track 7, “FMF 4”. Fetty starts the beat with a slow verse accompanied by some catchy piano chords courtesy of producer, Pisano. Followed by his verse Fetty delivers some melodic vocals showcasing his signature RnB style. The way he is able to use two styles with one song is one of the many reasons why he stands out so much as an artist. The project as a whole is good but a few other songs that really stand out are “Cologne“, “Hold On“, and “2030“. Produced by CezBeats “Cologne” is the perfect track to start the project with. With some heavy RnB vibes Fetty effortlessly slides on the beat switching flows and hitting multiple high notes. Fetty and The Loud Pack which is a producer collective out of Paterson New Jersey have collaborated many times in the past and they showed their chemistry on “Hold On”. Delivering an infectious hook fans are already drawn to the song from the beginning. Staying in tune with the hook Fetty is able to tell a story of love while also delivering a track fans can dance and sing along to. The last song that caught my attention was “2030” produced by Cezbeats. Again Fetty starts with a hook that you instantly want to memorize so you can sing along. Fetty is truly ahead of his time making “2030” a perfect title for this track.
